It mandates overtime after eight hours in a workday or 48 hours in a workweek, which is stricter than the pre-AB 1066 10-hour requirement. However, it maintains flexibility to prevent significant reductions in hours and wages. Under this bill, farmworkers meeting the overtime threshold would receive compensation at one and a half times their regular rate of pay. Additionally, the bill retains the existing requirement that employers pay twice the employee’s regular rate of pay for any work exceeding 12 hours in one day.
