SACRAMENTO - Today, Assembly Republican Leader James Gallagher (Yuba City) issued the following statement on the release of Consumer Price Index data showing inflation hit 8.5% in March, the highest level since 1981: 

“How much worse does inflation need to get before Democrats get serious about helping California workers afford the basics? It’s been more than a month since Governor Newsom promised relief from high gas prices, but Californians are still struggling to fill their tanks and afford their groceries. Californians need action, not more empty words.”
