California Employment Development Department (EDD) will be at the Tehama County and Butte County Local Assistance Centers to provide information and assist individuals with their Unemployment Insurance Claims. The Governor has issued a State of Emergency proclamation for the area. This means that for those individuals directly impacted, the one-week waiting period for Unemployment Insurance benefits is waived (the waiting period is unpaid), and employers can request a 60-day extension to file state payroll reports and deposit state payroll taxes without penalty or interest.
California Department of Insurance (CDI) has sent consumer expert staff to the Tehama County and Butte County Local Assistance Centers to assist in filing insurance claims and protect communities from potential insurance fraud and abuse.
