AB 2676 – Housing Crisis Act of 2019

AB 2676 would strengthen the Housing Crisis Act of 2019 by codifying the legal precedent that a referendum or initiative falls under the definition of “restriction or limitation on housing development.” This language would allow cities to reject illegal measures before they reach the ballot, saving cities from unnecessary lawsuits.

The bill would also clarify the statute of limitations for actions of the Housing Crisis Act of 2019 as three years, ensuring consistent and timely enforcement of state housing law.
