“The hatred and violence directed at Jews is a cancer that must be condemned.”
SACRAMENTO – Assembly Republicans have formally introduced their resolution to condemn the Hamas terrorist organization, the atrocities it committed during its October 7 attack on Israel, and the recent wave of antisemitism in California and around the world. Assembly Concurrent Resolution 119 was introduced on the first day of the 2024 legislative session by Assembly Republican Leader James Gallagher (Yuba City) and is co-authored by Assembly Republicans and Sen. Shannon Grove (R-Bakersfield).
“The terrorism perpetrated by Hamas, and celebrated by its sympathizers, is disgusting. Unfortunately, even here in California, we have seen attempts to justify Hamas’ actions. We must show moral clarity – rejecting the group’s hateful ideology should not be controversial,” said Gallagher. “The hatred and violence directed at Jews is a cancer that must be condemned.”
In addition to denouncing antisemitism and terrorism, ACR 119 calls for the release of all hostages held by the terrorist group and decries Hamas’ acts of sexual violence and theft of relief supplies intended for Gaza’s civilian population.
ACR 119 was introduced despite efforts by pro-Hamas extremists to disrupt the first day of the legislative session and bully their opponents into silence.
