SACRAMENTO – Today, Assemblyman James Gallagher (R-Yuba City) released the following statement on the Bureau of Labor Statistics’ latest inflation data, which showed prices jumped 7% in December – the highest rate since 1982:
“Californians are finding it harder and harder to pay their rent, fill up the tank and put food on the table. The wealthy elitists who run this state may be doing just fine, but most everyone else is struggling. The Legislature and the Governor have an opportunity this year to take a look around and realize how their policies are absolutely crushing families and small businesses. Bluster and empty promises aren’t going to cut it. We need major reforms to our heavy-handed state government if the middle class is going to survive. That’s the reality. Whether or not the Democrat super-majority wants to admit it is a different question.”
