SACRAMENTO – Today, the State Senate unanimously approved legislation designed to fast-track major infrastructure projects in the Town of Paradise. Assembly Bill 36, authored by Assemblyman James Gallagher (R-Yuba City) and Senator Jim Nielsen (R-Tehama), will allow the Town of Paradise and the Paradise Irrigation District to utilize the design-build procurement method to advance future sewer and water projects.
“Government needs to do more than just react to crises. Butte County is perfectly positioned to begin moving forward with these two much needed infrastructure projects – and that’s what this legislation is intended to do,” said Gallagher.
AB 36 is sponsored by the Town of Paradise, the Paradise Irrigation District and the State Building and Construction Trades Council of California.
AB 36 now goes to the Governor’s desk for signature.
