Gallagher Bill Clears Assembly to Rebuild Washed-Out Sutter County Bridges

AB 975 fast-tracks critical storm repairs and restores rural access routes

SACRAMENTO – Today on the Assembly Floor, Assemblyman James Gallagher (R-East Nicolaus) secured passage of AB 975, a bill to speed up repairs on bridges and culverts in Sutter County damaged or destroyed by recent storms.

The bipartisan measure expands an existing exemption in state law, giving Sutter County the flexibility to bypass delays and move quickly to rebuild infrastructure that residents rely on for evacuation, school access, emergency services and farm operations.

“Local roads are still closed and vital farm-to-fork corridors are blocked,” said Gallagher. “AB 975 cuts through the red tape so Sutter County can get moving and reconnect these communities. This is about getting people back to their lives.”

The bill now moves to the State Senate for further action.
