Gallagher Condemns Approval of Newsom’s Gas Car Ban

SACRAMENTO – Assembly Republican Leader James Gallagher condemned the lame-duck Biden administration’s decision to approve Gov. Newsom’s radical gas-powered car ban.

Never mind that the technology isn’t there and the charging infrastructure is falling apart. Never mind that this isn’t practical in rural areas or that people can’t afford to pay even higher up-front costs for cars,” said Gallagher. “Newsom and his Democrat allies are all in on making life harder and more expensive for working Californians. Looks like the governor’s tour of red parts of California was just a publicity stunt, because Newsom clearly hasn’t learned anything from it.”

The gas car ban was unilaterally imposed by Newsom in an executive order after twice being rejected by the people’s representatives in the Legislature. Today, with barely a month left before leaving office, bureaucrats in the Biden administration granted a waiver to California, allowing the ban to proceed.
