Gallagher on Newsom’s “Jobs First” stop in Colusa County: “What on Earth is taking so long?”

SACRAMENTO – Today, as Gov. Gavin Newsom visits Colusa County for his “Jobs First” tour to brag about the Sites Reservoir and Delta tunnel project (neither of which have created many jobs), Assembly Republican Leader James Gallagher (Yuba City) blasted the governor for failing to deliver on his promises about infrastructure and the economy.

“The only ‘first’ about this tour is it’s the first time Newsom has cared about jobs in his six years as governor,” said Gallagher. “Sites Reservoir has been in the works since the Eisenhower administration and voters approved funding for the project a decade ago – what on Earth is taking so long? Californians need more results and fewer publicity stunts from the governor.”
