All Style, No Substance: Newsom’s Retail Theft “Achievements” Proven to be a Farce

History repeats itself – and so do Newsom’s failures.

Just a few months ago, a scathing audit revealed the Newsom administration spent $24 billion on homelessness without knowing if it worked.

Now, a CBS News investigation found that the state has no idea how many of the “tens of thousands” of retail thieves arrested by Newsom’s Organized Retail Crime Task Force were actually sentenced or received treatment.

CHP data does show that more than 60% of retail thieves are cited and released, which means they get a ticket and a court date – which the vast majority of criminals just ignore.

Newsom loves touting numbers that sound impressive, but when you look past the headlines, the Governor’s “achievements” are an inch deep and a mile wide.

If we learned anything from the report on retail theft or the audit of his homelessness spending (or his lies about wildfire projects, or his dismal jobs record… you get the idea), it’s that the more Newsom brags about something, the less is actually being done.
