Newsom’s Plan to Stop the California Exodus: Make Sure Every Other Neighboring State is Unaffordable

SACRAMENTO – Governor Newsom is doing his part to stop the California exodus: by making sure every other surrounding state is just as expensive.

This weekend he was in Washington State promoting their new Cap-and-Trade program, which has driven up their gas prices by 50 cents/gallon. This is just his latest attempt to ensure gas prices remain sky high for everyone in the West.

A week ago, Democrats in California jammed Newsom’s expensive refinery mandate through the Legislature – a bill that even the Governors of Arizona and Nevada warned would drive up costs in their states.

If that wasn’t bad enough, his administration is gearing up to take a vote on new regulations to the Low Carbon Fuel Standard, a decision that could push California gas prices another 65 cents per gallon. Representatives from his administration have refused to provide an updated cost estimate to lawmakers and journalists.

Wouldn’t it be great if Newsom would fix problems in our state instead of causing them in others?
