Media Advisory: Law Enforcement, Victim Advocates & Legislative Republicans to Hold Press Conference Condemning SB 94

Measure will allow violent murderers out of prison early.

SACRAMENTO – Tomorrow, Thursday August 22, victim advocates, law enforcement, and Legislative Republicans will gather at the State Capitol to condemn the dangerous and pro-criminal bill, Senate Bill 94 (Cortese).

SB 94 would allow murderers serving life without parole to have their sentences overturned, giving some of the most violent killers in our prisons an opportunity to walk free and forcing their victims’ families to fight for justice at parole hearings.

The early release of violent criminals is an affront to victims, their families and all Californians concerned about rising crime.

After failing to pass last year, SB 94 was recently revived by Democrats to possibly be voted on before the legislative session ends August 31.
